This project scope was to 3D laser scan and document the existing conditions of several structures and active excavations.
This is an animation of 3d lidar scan data obtained at Xunantunich Mayan Archaeology site in Belize Central America at 2 different times throughout the summer of 2023.
Project scope included (3) structures and newly excavated areas of the project scope.
The animation includes most of the site as we were able to pick up. Much more data than just the 3 structures we were focused on for the project. The 3d Laser scan data is accurate to 3/16" across the entirety of the site.
Prior to creating the animation we have removed most of the visitors throughout the scans, cropped out most of the vegetation and treetop canopies for viewing purposes. The scans show before and after scans of newly excavated areas to show exact locations and depths of the excavations.
This is a video showing our teams June 2023 adventures in Belize! We hope you enjoy.
